Homemade Baby Food – Carrots

I don’t claim to be a good cook but when it comes to making food for my babe, I want only the best! I was a rookie when it came to making baby food and now I have made TONS of healthy meal options and I’m here to share them with you!

At first, we did the whole, one fruit/veggie at a time to make sure he had no allergies. You’ll hear varying views regarding when to start babies on solids. No one knows your baby like you do, so if you feel like he/she is ready for solids and your Dr. gives you the go ahead, then why not? And that’s what we did. We started at 6 months.

My sister in-laws gave me the BEABA Babycook for Christmas and I was thrilled!! There are many different ways to prepare your baby’s food but to me this seemed the easiest. You can do the old fashioned way by roasting your veggies in the oven or steaming them on the stove-top but that takes additional time, and as a mom, time is not something I have an excess of. The BEABA allows me to make tons meals in very little time!

Carrots-When cooked, this vegetable is good for babies starting at 5-6 months if it is organic or from your garden (to avoid too many nitrates in the cooking water). It is not recommended to serve raw carrots until your baby is at least 2 years of age. According to the BEABA cookbook, they recommend buying carrots from the end of April till the end of July, and “in-season” carrots until mid December. Carrots contain fiber that helps intestinal transit.

**Disclaimer-I receive zero kickbacks for mentioning the BEABA! I just love it and it’s super easy to use.
